What Real Data Reveals

We’re all becoming more aware of what is in our food and how it is farmed. Unbiased, scientific data is essential in making informed decisions about our health and the impact we make on the environment.

Successful farms are vital to our local economy and the world’s food supply. Thankfully, real data shows our local farmers are already great environmental stewards.

Our area farmers are actively pursuing ways to increase water efficiency and monitor our water resources. The scientific data they are already collecting should be used to promote sensible legislation and alleviate unfounded fears of depleting our water resources. Overly restrictive regulations impact both family farms and the agricultural economy. Blocking irrigation on farms that could be irrigated decreases land values by 60% or more and decreases crop yields by up to 40%. A slowing agricultural economy harms farm-related businesses, and financial investments in farms and businesses simply move to farm-friendly states.

Our water stewardship approach is collaborative, proactive and environmentally conscious. Learn more about Midwest Water Stewards.

Water stewardship is fundamental for our family farm’s future success. To grow a quality potato crop we require exact amounts of water at just the right time. Our customers depend on reliable quality and we must protect our future through responsible water use and regulations based on science.
